Installation and set up of Mods required for online play of Ghost Recon in GNSF Please read and perform the below listed steps. If any of these steps have already been done, simply skip them. Please note that for the game to operate PROPERLY, you MUST have the mods installed in the order listed (used when hosting). Also, please note that BOTH expansion packs (Desert Thunder, Island Seige) are required for these mods to operate. We strongly recommend you install and use the Ghost Recon Mods Manager, as it allows easy setup of the mods you will have in your mods folders. Installation ------------ First, Install Ghost Recon, Desert Siege and Island Thunder installed and that you applied the 1.3 and 1.4 patch for Ghost Recon. This patch can be found on the R&D page under Download, Ghost Recon Downloads ----------------- Second, Download and install Silent Killers Dark Storm, Silent killers Vengeance, the Silent Killers Map Pack. The Silent Killer link is listed on the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) ----------------- Third, Download and install the DTD SCAR Mod. This mod is listed in the R&D Dowloads for Ghost Recon (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) Then run the DTD SCAR mod 1.1 patch, link listed on the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section ----------------- Fourth, Download and install the the DTD Team Mod version 1.1. This mod is listed in the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) ----------------- Sixth, After that run the Alpha Mod installer and point it to your Ghost Recon folder. This mod is listed on the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) (Standard Upgrade is included with this mod but needs to be activated separately when you are hosting.) ----------------- Seventh, Download the winter wonderland mod and run it. This mod is listed in the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) ----------------- Eighth, Download and install the FNG server side map pack V5. The FNG server side map pack V5 link is listed on the R&D Download page Ghost Recon section (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) ----------------- Once the Alpha mod is installed, run the GNSF self installing mod (titled GNSF_1XX.exe). This will make sure all files are in the right order and add any bug fixes we have made to date. (note: installs in your \Ghost Recon\Mods folder) ----------------- Using the "Ghost Recon Mod Manager v2.01 (also located for downloading in the R&D Downloads), activate the mods and make sure they have the CORRECT PRIORITY (if you do not have this manager installed, download and install it). To set the order correctly, double click on all mods on the right side of the manager screen, this will remove that mod. When the right side is empty, double click on the mods in the left hand side of the manager to add them in. NOTE, click on them in the order shown below, as each new one added goes BELOW the previous one (can not stick things in the middle of a list). The order should be: Desert Siege (called MP1) Island Thunder (called MP2) Silent Killer Map pack Silent killer Dark Storm Pack Silent killers Vengeance map pack DTD SCAR Mod DTD Team Mod Standard Upgrade Alpha Mod Winter Wonderland GNSF_V1XX Once you have the list in the right window of the manager laid out exactly as the list above, hit "SAVE" to lock them in. If you do not hit save, the system will revert to the previous list. You may notice that you may have more mods listed on the left that are not being used for GNSF play (will have DA49, Hx5 and maybe some others), and they can remain, as the mods manager simply sets what mods and what order are used for the HOST machine. If you are not hosting a game and have the required mods showing on the left side you will be able to play. We strongly recommend that ALL players set their machines up as listed above just in case they ever host. If you plan on hosting then this set up is a MUST or players will not be able to connect to you. ----------------- Once you're done and start Ghost Recon up, you can set up the mods in the options screens. You can connect to others or start a host game under the multiplayer tab. In the options set up screen of Ghost Recon, the server should choose "No restrictions" for best weapons choice, as this will allow ALL kits to be shown and chosen.
