Special Forces Tournement a Real Battle

As the Special Forces Tournament continues, it is turning into a real battle. All over the base I hear people talking about their last battle, and how nasty it was.

I managed to get an interview with a member of the current leading team, Fleet Admiral Stern, and he answered a few questions on how it was going.

Sir, from all the talk around the base, it seems everyone is really getting wrapped up in this Tournament?

Yes, they sure are. It does give many something to look forward to above the usual humdrum day-to-day duties.

Yes, I can see that every time I go into the mess hall. As you may have read, Admiral Wallbanger was very blunt about not cutting any slack to new recruits during this exorcise. How are the newest members doing?

Well, the boss may be blunt, but he is right. Everyone is taking this tournament as the real thing, and since you will not receive any slack from enemies on the battlefield, you will not find any here. The new members are doing great, and many are kicking the complacent butts of more senior members.

It looks like you and the Admiral are doing very well, as you are currently in the lead and you are listed as the top scorer. You two must be quite surprised and happy about that.

Surprised and happy?. What you really mean is that it is surprising we are leading because we are both OLD! Age has little to do with it, and remember with age comes experience. As for top scorer, that is not the measure of the officer, but a measure of the team. I have a very good partner. Slim, you are a lot younger than we are, maybe I can slot you in to the Tournament, then you can see difference age makes.

No way sir; the only fighting I ever want to do is trying to get regular service done on the newsroom equipment. Anyway, it sounds like many of the new members are really top gun themselves.

Yes, we have been very fortunate, and many of our new members are actually skilled veterans to combat. They will make GNSF a much stronger and feared force.

On a different note, what are your views on the remarks made by the President of North Korea regarding a planed attack on the US?

Well as you know, at the request of the US, a team was sent in to observe, but was shot at. After performing some reconnaissance, a SCUD base was found and destroyed. We will be keeping a close eye on the situation there, and will react accordingly.

Well, it seems that this tournament is running smooth, and the North Koreans have something to think about themselves. I will keep you all informed of both situations as data comes in.
