Unknown Aid to the Military

Somewhere in Columbia

Today, as I was snooping around, I noticed a large commotion at the Military base I had originally visited. Figuring I would be either really safe, or up the creek, I headed in and asked for a meeting with one of the press representatives there.

Fortunately, I was granted an informal meeting with one of the press secretaries, who refused to be interviewed, but did pass on some information to me.

It seems that a large influx of cash was injected into the Columbia Government and Military, but the source seems to be a heavily guarded secret with most involved not even knowing. It seems this came just in time to prevent a complete collapse of the military. It seems the large commotion I saw earlier were military officials handing out long overdue pay to military personnel.

While I could get nothing more, it seems someone has taken an interest in the welfare of the Columbian military. Many speculate who, but it certain it wasn’t the drug lords, as this will hamper their plans a bit. While I doubt the financial influx was large enough to do anything but resolve troop back pay, it does stop the defection or current military personnel.

I am following up another lead based on some rampant rumors here. It is alleged that only 3 squads of military officers, one a special operations squad have actually gone missing. It is rumored that the Special ops commander is in control of all squads, but this is yet to be confirmed.

This is Slim Jim reporting from a hidden location within Columbia.
